Scrum Master
Working Hours: full overlap with EST

We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our Legal PMO. We drive cross-functional alignment, create process efficiencies, and deliver large-scale strategic initiatives in a rapidly growing Legal Technology space, while supporting an exciting collection of B2C and B2B brands - Avvo, Martindale, Nolo, & NgageLive.
Scrum Masters (SM) are responsible for the day-to-day oversight of activities performed by a team while adhering to agile practices and disciplines. The SM would work very closely with agile teams to resolve team level impediments and manage risk. They are responsible for working closely with Product Owners to ensure that team members are working on the highest priority work items defined within the team’s roadmap. The SM has a strong understanding of Agile Scrum and Kanban principles and practices. SMs are also responsible for providing hands-on support for the adoption of agile practices and identifying opportunity areas for improvement where it is warranted. Scrum Masters are strong communicators and are required to work closely with project managers & application teams to support the implementation of working software. Scrum Masters prepare deliverables and artifacts that highlight the progress accomplished by teams (velocity, sprint and feature burn-ups / burn-downs, cumulative flow reports, etc.) and are responsible for presenting those artifacts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates the execution and adoption of Scrum ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, retrospectives, etc.) according to best practices
- Manages the remediation of blockers and issues identified by team members to support the timely completion of sprint deliverables.
- Works to remove impediments and manage dependencies.
- Provides day-to-day coaching to team members to support the adoption of agile practices and disciplines.
- Supports program planning activities as necessary in collaboration with partnering project/program managers.
- Facilitates the definition and implementation of team-level working agreements to support the day-to-day delivery of working software.
- Identifies and creates metrics (ex: burnups, cumulative flows, velocity charts) that measure and report on team performance, backlog health, and quality of delivered software.
- Supports the implementation of improvement areas identified in team retrospectives.
- Ensures the work implemented by teams adheres to the steps and procedures outlined within the definition of done (DoD) framework.
- Acts as a servant leader for multiple teams and their stakeholders.
Required experience:
- 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment focused on software development
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
- Ability to identify and mitigate technical delivery risks.
- Experience in managing more than one Scrum team.
- Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.
- Familiarity with ticketing system (JIRA, YouTrack), wiki tools, and Git
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Bonus points for:
- Experience optimizing SDLC processes to improve the quantity and quality of work.
- Ability to manage project delivery planning, estimating, and metrics reporting.
