Role Overview
We’re seeking a QA Engineer with strong experience in backend testing, API validation, and automation scripting. You’ll work across distributed teams to ensure our systems are reliable, performant, and user-ready. This role blends deep technical validation with hands-on coordination and documentation, making it ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Analyze QA task requirements independently and translate them into actionable test plans.
- Design and execute test cases for backend services, APIs, databases, and campaign workflows.
- Validate RESTful APIs, network traffic, and ad delivery using tools like Charles or Fiddler.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and responsive testing across browsers and mobile devices.
- Execute and maintain automation scripts using Selenium or similar frameworks.
- Verify data integrity across relational databases (PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL) using SQL queries.
- Collaborate with developers and product teams to triage issues and verify bug fixes.
- Coordinate testing activities across remote and onsite teams in multiple time zones.
- Document test cases, checklists, and QA processes for transparency and repeatability.
- Track and manage defects using tools like JIRA, YouTrack, or Bugzilla.
- Support campaign operations and digital QA workflows, including request management via Workfront, Wrike, or Trello.
- Mentor new QA team members and contribute to onboarding documentation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of QA experience in web-based technologies, with a strong focus on backend and API testing.
- Proficiency in automation scripting (Selenium required; others a plus).
- Experience with mobile testing, ad validation, and network traffic inspection.
- Familiarity with cross-browser and responsive testing across real devices.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies and defect lifecycle management.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for web validation.
- Experience with issue tracking and request management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a distributed team environment.
